چکیده
General Aspects Determination of characteristic fluorescence parameters i.e. spectral properties, quantum yields, polarizations, and lifetimes, is important in the study of excited states of atoms, molecules, and crystals and also for diagnostic purposes in the physical, chemical, biological, and medical sciences. The appeal of fluorescence methodologies lies in their intrinsic sensitivity and also in the characteristic time scale of the emission process. The excited fluorescent state typically persists for nanoseconds or less, a period that corresponds to the time scale of many important biological

Time-resolved fluorescence anisotropies of diphenylhexatriene and perylene in solvents and lipid bilayers obtained from multifrequency phase-modulation fluorometry.
Time-resolved decays of fluorescence anisotropy were obtained from frequency-domain measurements of the phase angle difference between the parallel and perpendicular components of the polarized emission and the ratio of the modulated amplitudes. These data were measured at modulation frequencies ranging from 1 to 200 MHz. To demonstrate the general applicability of this method, we describe the ...
متن کاملCa2+ interaction with phospholipid bilayers studied by multifrequency phase fluorometry.
Calcium interaction with phospholipid membranes containing phosphatidic acid is studied by multifrequency phase fluorometry, using DPH as fluorescent molecule. DPH decay is analysed by a continuous distribution of lifetimes. The results suggest an increase of membrane heterogeneity at low calcium concentrations, without changes in the polarity of the environment surrounding the probe.
متن کاملAn Efficient Hierarchical Modulation based Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Transmission Scheme for Digital Video Broadcasting
Due to the increase of users the efficient usage of spectrum plays an important role in digital terrestrial television networks. In digital video broadcasting, local and global content are transmitted by single frequency network and multifrequency network respectively. Multifrequency network support transmission of global content and it consumes large spectrum. Similarly local content are well ...
متن کاملInteraction of a fluorescent analogue of GDP with elongation factor Tu: steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence studies.
A fluorescent derivative of GDP was prepared by the reaction of 2'-amino-2'-deoxy-GDP with fluorescamine. This derivative binds tightly (KD approximately 4.5 X 10(-8) M) to elongation factor Tu (EF-Tu) from Escherichia coli. The emission properties, including spectra, polarizations, and lifetimes, for fluorescamine-GDP free in solution and bound to EF-Tu are presented. Emission data on the fluo...
متن کاملTime-resolved fluorescence studies on protoporphyrin IX-apohorseradish peroxidase.
The hemin moiety of horseradish peroxidase (donor:hydrogen-peroxide oxidoreductase, EC 1.11.1.7) was removed and the apoprotein reconstituted with the fluorescent protoporphyrin IX. Steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence properties of the HRP(desFe) adduct were examined; the multifrequency phase and modulation method was utilized for lifetime and dynamic polarization studies. The emission ...
